New plant for Research and Development of Solutions for the Fishery Industry

We have good news.

In the second semester of this year, we will open a new research and development centre for products and solutions dedicated to the fishery industry.

Why have we decided to start this new venture? 

What can our customers expect from our new facilities? 

We answer all these questions below.

Our commitment to push the limits

At PH7 we have been growing steadily over the last few years. The plant we currently have was too small and this prevented us from working quickly, resulting in excessively long delivery times.

With the new facilities we will be able to offer our customers a faster service.

But there is much more.

It will allow us to continue to grow in many different ways:

  • Production increase: the new centre will help us to increase our production capacity. Not only because the facilities are bigger, but also because we will have more space for special machinery.
  • All the food safety certifications: the new building is designed in a way that allows us to comply with all the regulatory requirements in force today. So our customers can be confident that we will have the latest food safety requirements.
  • A space to take on projects for the future: we will have a large space for the technical team, which we will talk about in more detail below.

Let’s take a closer look at the improvements brought by the new research and development centre.

A space with a sophisticated R&D system

In addition to all the benefits that will come with the new facility – increased production and storage, among other things we will tell you about later – we will also have a space for the technical team.

This technical department will be provided with:

  • Laboratory.
  • R&D space.
  • A showroom where product demonstrations and tests can be performed for out customers.
  • Training and conference rooms.

All this space will allow us to do research into creating cleaner labels for treatments, as well as working to meet the demands of legislation and market trends.

And of course, this area will allow us to be at the customer’s side, looking for the best products for them and helping them in any way necessary. This is an implicit invitation for them to present their problems to us in order to help them find the best solution.

How will the new PH7 Food Hub look like?

We have told you what the new facilities will bring to us and to our customers. But we haven’t gone into more technical details…

We encourage you to get to know it a little better:

  • This is a newly built logistics centre of 6,000 m². Of which: 3,000 m² of space will be dedicated to the warehouse, while 3,000 m² will be dedicated to the production area. In addition, 1,000 m² will be set aside for offices and the technical area.
  • The new plant will be equipped with the latest technology in additive mixing and packaging systems: solid mixers with packaging systems from 5 kg to 25 kg (with and without vacuum), liquid mixers with packaging systems in 5-litre carafes up to complete tanks, packaging machines and separate rooms for products containing allergens and non-allergens.
  • The yard covers an area of 5,000 m².
  • It has a concrete structure with a sandwich roof.
  • The building will have 1008 photovoltaic modules with a generating surface area of 2,096 m². This photovoltaic installation will avoid an annual emission of 222.84 Tn of CO2, the equivalent of the repopulation of 557 trees annually.
  • These facilities will have the necessary infrastructures to cover everything related to the logistics and handling of food additives and ingredients.

All this available space – together with the appropriate machinery and infrastructure – will allow us to multiply our production capacity with two new lines, in order to adapt to market trends and the current needs of our customers.

A strategic location

The warehouse is located in a privileged place: the industrial area of Sector Autopista, in Parets del Vallés (Barcelona).

It is a strategic location that brings us a number of benefits:

  • Good road and public transport connections: this industrial park is characterised by a perfect location, as it is well connected by road. It is also served by several nearby intercity bus lines and Renfe train services (specifically the R3 line).
  • Close to the port and airport of Barcelona: it is also only 30 km from these two important logistical hubs.
  • Easy access to Barcelona: from this location it is very quick and convenient to travel to the city of Barcelona and its metropolitan area.
  • Direct access to the C-17 road and the AP-7 motorway: from the warehouse it is possible to directly access the Catalan regional motorway and the well-known Mediterranean motorway, which connects the entire Spanish Mediterranean coast from the French border to Guadiaro, in Cadiz.

As you can see, we will be in a privileged location that will benefit both our transport service and the customers who wish to visit our facilities.

PH7 will be present at the Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona

From April 26 to 28, the Seafood Expo Global International Exhibition will take place for the first time in Barcelona: the world’s largest and most diverse seafood show, an event that brings together more than 29,000 seafood professionals from around the world and more than 2,000 exhibiting companies from 89 countries.

The organization has announced that the 28th edition of the event is so far larger than any of the previous editions of the world’s largest seafood show. It has sold 41,985 square meters of exhibition space, which is 3.3% more than in 2019, the largest edition of the show held so far. The Expo will take place in Halls 2, 3, 4, 5 and the Gallery between Halls 4 and 5 at Fira de Barcelona.

We are very excited to attend one more year as exhibitors at the Seafood Expo Global. Our booth is 2H401, located next to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food stand. It will be a good opportunity to meet again and present you our solutions for fish additives and pre-cooked products that can improve your production and enhance the quality, appearance and texture of your products.

PH7 will be present at the Seafood Expo North America 2022

On March 13, 14 and 15, 2022, the Seafood Expo North America will take place in Boston. This event is the largest seafood trade show in North America. It will be attended by seafood-related companies in all market categories, including retailers, restaurants, caterers and food processors. The exhibition will feature more than 830 exhibiting companies from 50 countries conducting business over 180,000 square-feet of exhibit space. Exhibitors will be present with a wide range of fish, seafood and seafood-related products or services.

The PH7 team will be present as visitors, in order to follow all the news of the sector, learn about new trends and visit our customers in the United States.

In addition, in a few weeks we will also be present as exhibitors at the Seafood Expo Global that will take place in Barcelona from April 26th to 28th, stand 2H401. Soon we will inform you about all the details related to this fair.

PH7 present at the China Fisheries & Seafood Expo through Kinry Food Ingredients

Kinry Food Ingredients, our distributor in China, will be present at booth B4-1432 from October 27 to 29 at the 25th China Fisheries & Seafood Expo, located in the new convention and exhibition center in Quingdao. The show is expected to feature 1,500 exhibiting companies and more than 40,000 square meters of exhibition space.

This event is considered one of the most important worldwide for seafood professionals. More than 35,000 professionals from all over the world attend CFSE, including importers, distributors, retailers and food service operators. The main sectors of exhibiting companies are:

PH7 present at Aqua Expo 2021 through AMP Solutech

AMP Solutech, our distributor in Ecuador, will be present from October 25 to 28 at Aqua Expo 2021, located at the Guayaquil Convention Center. This expo is the most important shrimp technical and commercial event in Latin America and has more than 20 years of history. Organized by the National Chamber of Aquaculture, its main objective is to promote knowledge and innovation in the aquaculture community worldwide.

This event is divided into a commercial fair and a scientific-technical congress. Hundreds of Ecuadorian and foreign companies participate in the fair, exhibiting the highlights of their portfolio of products and services. The congress addresses topics of interest and importance to the aquaculture sector such as: disease prevention and management, nutrition and feeding practices, efficiency and technological innovations, crop diversification, genetic improvement, market trends, etc. Researchers and aquaculture professionals from all over the world participate, presenting their latest research and technological advances.

AMP Solutech will be present at the fair with its own stand (#79) presenting PH7 products, as well as its high technology and quality products for the aquaculture sector.

PH7 will be present at the Conxemar Exhibition 2021 from 5-7 Oct.

PH7 Food Technology will be present at the International Exhibition of Frozen Seafood Products (CONXEMAR) to be held in Vigo (Pontevedra) on 5, 6 and 7 October 2021.

This exhibition, a benchmark in Europe, is one of the four most important in the world with a current exhibition area of 31,500m² and serves as a meeting point for the entire processing sector: wholesalers, importers, exporters, processors, manufacturers, distributors, refrigerators, machinery and auxiliary industry.


We will be located at stand F25 where we will be presenting our additive solutions for fish and pre-cooked products that will undoubtedly help to improve the production, quality, appearance and texture of your products.

BD Texfish Fillet 10: New texturising product for fish fillets

We introduce you a new product we have added to our range of texturisers, BD Texfish Fillet 10. A new phosphate-free texturiser, specially designed as a base formula for the preparation of brines for the treatment of processed fish fillets by injection and immersion techniques.

Its main advantages are:

  • Good performance is achieved through high texturising capacity and moisture retention.
  • Improved appearance with a uniform colour change throughout the piece and gloss of the treated fillet.
  • The morphology of the fillets does not deteriorate (does not open them).
  • It preserves better the organoleptic characteristics of the product over time, avoiding rancidity and moisture loss during storage and commercialisation.

Cod and hake treatment

With the new BD Texfish Fillet 10 we recommend treating cod by injection and immersion techniques and treating hake by immersion.

Above we can see the treatment of a hake fillet using the immersion method with the new BD Texfish Fillet 10 product and below an untreated hake fillet.
